A little about James D. Saint

About my law firm

James' practice focuses on ‘rooftop law’; that is areas of the law in which most people will need legal help. This includes Family Law (Divorce, Custody, Child Support, CPS, and Juvenile cases), Criminal Law ( including traffic citations, drivers license hearings, DWI, etc.), Wills and Estate Documents, and Landlord-Tenant matters (including evictions and leases). However, help is available for other matters as well. Feel free to contact us if you have any legal matter and if we can not help you, we will point you in the right direction to find someone who can.

Personal Background

Born in Fort Worth (Harris hospital to be precise) and raised in Tarrant County, James has lived in the area for almost his entire life, except when attending college. James has much family in the area, and his sister is Dr. Anjonette Colvin, an Optometrist (Heritage Family Eyecare), also in the Keller-Fort Worth area.

Educational Background

James graduated cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center finishing in the top 12% of the class. Elective courses included trial advocacy, advance legal research, criminal procedure, criminal law clinic, consumer law clinic (landlord-tenant), and marital property rights.

James also hold a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M – Corpus Christi.

He is a proud member of the State Bar College. This is an honorary organization which requires an attorney to complete at least twice the minimum amount of continuing education required by the State Bar each year.

Work Experience

Since obtaining his law degree, James has served as an Assistant City Attorney in both Corpus Christi and Arlington. In both cities, he was a Municipal Court Prosecutor handling Class C Misdemeanors and City Code violations.  In Arlington, James later handled civil litigation matters – including briefs to the 2nd Court of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court – and labor matters, including arbitrations. James opened this private law practice in September 2009. He is an adjunct professor at Texas Wesleyan School of Law and serves as a part time judge in Keller, Texas.

Prior to law school, James served as Vice President of the Garland Chamber of Commerce and Assistant to the City Manager in North Richland Hills.
